Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ListGuru (“ListGuru”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you use our website, applications, browser extension and APIs (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you create a ListGuru account we collect your name, work email address, company name, password hash and, if you subscribe to a paid plan, billing details processed by our payment provider. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
Usage information. We automatically collect log data about how you use the service — searches run, credits spent, features used, pages visited, browser type, IP address and approximate location derived from it. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and understand product usage.
Professional profile data. The ListGuru platform indexes publicly available professional information about business people — such as name, job title, employer, business contact details and public social profiles — sourced from the open web and licensed data partners. This data powers search, enrichment and verification results delivered to customers.
2. How we use information
We use the information described above to provide and operate the service; to authenticate you and secure your account; to process payments and manage credits; to improve search quality, verification accuracy and product features; to communicate with you about the service, including transactional emails and, with your consent where required, product updates; and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your account information. Professional profile data is made available to customers as the core function of the service, subject to this policy and applicable law.
3. Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data on the following bases: performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for); legitimate interests (operating a B2B contact data service, securing our platform, improving our products), balanced against the rights of the individuals concerned; consent, where we ask for it (for example, certain marketing communications); and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Sharing and disclosure
We share personal data with service providers who help us run ListGuru — hosting, analytics, payment processing, email delivery and customer support tooling — under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing services to us.
We may also disclose information to comply with law or valid legal process, to protect the rights, safety and property of ListGuru, our users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply until it is replaced with notice to you.
5. Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, tax and accounting requirements. Usage logs are retained for up to 24 months. Professional profile records in our index are refreshed on a rolling basis and removed when we can no longer verify their public availability or when the individual concerned opts out.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
If you are a person whose professional profile appears in ListGuru search results, you may request removal at any time and we will suppress your record from future results. EU/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) residents may exercise their rights by emailing privacy@listguru.example. We will respond within the timeframes required by law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
7. Security and international transfers
We protect personal data using industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, audit logging and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we notify affected users and regulators of qualifying incidents as required by law.
ListGuru operates globally. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or an in-product notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Questions, requests or complaints can be sent to privacy@listguru.example. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
